When You Look Back At This, You Can Say That This Is Where It Began

The smears from the MSM aren't going to wait forever you know.  Since they've collectively decided that Obama has all but secured the nomination, it must be time for the real news to begin.

Presumptive Republican presidential candidate John McCain secured millions in federal funds for a land acquisition program that provided a windfall for an Arizona developer whose executives were major campaign donors, according to a USA Today report.

McCain, an Arizona senator, inserted $14.3 million in a 2003 defense bill to buy land around Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona, in a provision sought by SunCor Development, the largest of 50 landowners near the base, the newspaper reported on its Web site Thursday, citing public records.

Because McCain knew back in 2003 that he'd be running for President in 2008, right.  The quid pro quo is obvious... isn't it?

McCain has made fighting special interest projects on Capitol Hill a centerpiece of his White House bid.

Nice bit of additional smear there.  Implying that he's being a hypocrite about fighting pork, but no proof or even alleged details needed.  I can't hold my nose long enough to vote for him, but I'm holding it now to defend him.  I can't even explain why except to say that there are too many legitimate things to bash McCain about for dishonest smears to be needed.  If the MSM did some honest reporting and slammed him for those, I'd nod my head and say, "Carry on."  They just don't know how to do honest reporting.
