Now, it looks as if the UK may grant the asylum application after all.
Of course, the "new circumstances" are not the details of the teen's story so much... they're that the story is now getting attention. The original application for asylum already had the facts and denied the application anyway. If this hadn't gotten the attention it did, this kid could already be on his way to Tehran looking forward to his "day in court".

So over one third is supposed to go to the government? I'm definitely for getting rid of inheritance taxes now. The government didn't do anything to earn that money and it's already been taxed by the Japanese government. Why should any government profit from someone dying?
You might think the guy would have planned better though... I mean, cardboard boxes in a garage? Come on!! I would have built my own bank and then let the government try to figure out my estate. Heh.

More than "physically stuck"... apparently her skin had grown around the seat which had to be removed with a prybar so she could be taken to the hospital. My wife thinks I sit around too much sometimes... wait until the next time she says something. This is printed and just waiting as part of my defense strategy.

So now it's "The State vs Mary Ann" and it looks like she lost. The 69-year-old actress had several charges dropped as part of a plea agreement, including one for driving under the influence after she failed a sobriety test. Talk about busted images.... sigh.
Exit question: They have marijuana in Idaho? Really?

- The whole Spitzer story. I started at Hot Air, but could have done it at Patterico's, Ace's, The Jawa Report, or LGF, among others. I didn't care when President Clinton got caught, just that he lied about it under oath. I agree with aphrael, enough is enough. If you're interested, there's plenty out there without my $0.02 worth.
- Via Allah, President Bush singing. Just like the dancing in Saudi Arabia, this type of political crap bores me. I understand that it's good for relations with whoever... that's why I'll never go into politics. I don't want good relations (except online of course, heh).
- There are so many manufactured controversies by this Democratic House and Senate that it's a wonder it still makes even the MSM headlines (no, not really. A lawsuit over a contempt citation from a subpoena about a legal function of the Executive Branch... feh. Add in baseball, drinking water, and 99 bajillion other red herrings and you have "the most ethical Congress ever".
- DRJ at Patterico's think her Word of the Day post is bad... I kind of liked it. I wouldn't touch this one though. Just sayin'
- California nanny-statism profiled over at Patterico's (I know, but I spent a lot of time over there yesterday and today on the Balko post which is definitely worth reading!! So, technically not part of this post... but go anyway, heh)

The little things matter, and no cussing/cursing sets a respectful tone to a conversation. I try not to curse in my everyday life and mostly avoid it online, although I make the occasional exception. Having little tolerance for dishonesty, arguments of moral equivalence where none exists (saying Bush = Hitler causes me to automatically dismiss anything else being said), or racist remarks makes it even harder to avoid cursing. I'll be the first to admit that I don't always succeed. I do know that any one of my four kids might come across something I write online and I want to be able to say, "Yes, I wrote that." without shame or embarrassment.
Don't get me wrong, hearing someone else cuss doesn't bother me... whether it's just part of how they speak, used to emphasize a point, or just insult me. Water off a duck's back and all that. Being in the military for 24 years will bring you in contact with a lot of different types of cussing, some almost artistic in its creativeness. Emperor Misha over at The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler and Kim du Toit at The Other Side of Kim are both masterful at skewing liberal idiots. Creative cussing can be very effective and fun to read, but neither of these gentlemen would ever consider using poor language in front of a lady (I assume this excludes Code Pink and other moonbats, but I did say lady).
Suffice to say, I don't faint at bad language. I do like this teenagers initiative though, especially when he says that,
Good for him and I agree. You can do whatever you like, but if you want to associate with me you have to meet my standards. If you don't like it, that's ok. You go your way and I'll go mine.. I know I'll do fine and I wish you well. If you don't like how I act about something, tell me. I'll either change or no longer expect that I can hang out with you. No harm, no foul. That's how peer pressure works and he now has 10,000 members in his no-cussing club.
Hopefully it will continue to catch on and people can disagree while showing mutual respect. That's what we're supposed to do all the time, but fail to do all too often. Save the invective for when it's appropriate and it becomes much more effective.
Just sayin'
