Well-Prepared Clerk
If I ever started working in a convenience store I would make sure that I could protect myself. This is my kind of guy.
A man’s attempted armed robbery of a central Mesa store was foiled
Sunday when the clerk fought back with a Taser, his fists and a
handgun, police said.
That is friggin AWESOME. I was waiting for the part when the guy was supposed to say "I would have used the RPG but due to the enclosed space I was operating in as well as the fact that the guy was pretty much a puddle from the previous weaponry I felt that it would have been a bit of overkill."

It sounds like he was a bit rushed... no mention of nunchucks, edged weapons, or pepper-spray. I would never use an RPG in a convenience store. If I worked in a gas station though....

It's not overkill already? Was the robber Batman?

It caught my eye because the guy had a Taser. I've never heard of that being used to thwart a convenience store robbery. Besides, everybody knows Batman doesn't rob stores... sheesh!
Good to see you Gabriel.

Check Out The Talent!!
I've long said that I would need six months of intensive art lessons to draw stick-people, so S.Weasel's talent leaves me in jealous awe, especially with the graphic to today's post. *Sigh* Go check out S.Weasel... she lets you "steal" her original graphics (like this!)
This isn't the graphic for today's post... get on over there to see it. It's worth it. And steal what you like, but it would be nice to say where you got it from. Go on, get going.
Can Either Clinton Think More Of Themselves?
Both of these came up at Drudge at the same time. First, Hillary.
Stephanopoulos pointed out that radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has
encouraged Republicans to vote for Clinton to divide the Democratic
Party, prompting one of the lighter moments of the show.
“He’s always had a crush on me,†Clinton said, as the room of about 200 people erupted into laughter.
After one person fell during an event in
Lenoir, Clinton joked: "Somebody faints at nearly every one of these
things now. At my age, I didn't think I could make anybody faint
anymore."
Ok, those are both pretty funny actually. Is it just me, or do they seem much more relaxed now (link via Insty) that Obama is under fire from so many / other / directions? (nice series from DRJ, that's 3 different links btw... I changed the formatting a bit to make it clearer)
You're Bugging Me
Battlefield Intelligence may get an small assist soon... and I do mean small. The idea is to send in these guys first. Developed for British troops, a trial run with prototypes is hoped for before the year is out. I'm not sure how practical it is, but it's pretty darn cool. How soon before the nutroots complain that our government will want them for domestic use?

Yep, some serious crazy there. If we could power cars using just leftist paranoia, San Francisco would become the New Motown while most of the Middle East would turn back into desert.

Dr. Sanity Has "Carnival Of The Insanities" Every Sunday
If you're still interested in surfing, every Sunday you can find "Carnival of the Insanities" over at Dr. Sanity's site. You'll never know what gold is hidden there until you check it out.
Links Around The Moronosphere - Weekend Edition From dpud
While lamenting a paucity of offerings, dpud manages to gather a ton of great links around the Moronosphere. He's included some especially fine stupidity pointed out by eddiebear, some funny stuff from The Pillage Idiot, and lots more. Click on over and prepare to spend some time with doubleplusundead and the gang.

Between Saturday and Sunday, I've got a pretty good amount of links going now. It was a bit sparse on Saturday. I started out and after a while was like...hmmm, there's too much on here to ditch it now, so what do I do? Posted! I'm used to having a decent amount of stuff to post, even on the weekend, it was just an abnormally slow weekend.

What's The Opposite Of A Misogynist?
Because it's time men demand equal rights regarding stem cell collection. Men have been denied for too long and it's got to change. Nobody is advocating taking rights away from women, far from it. They have exercised this right for so long that taking it away in an attempt to establish an artificial "fair playing field" would engender (pun intended) bitterness and frustration, resulting in a potentially violent backlash against men. Better to have a truly level field where everyone can enjoy the benefits these stem cells may provide.
I propose that men gather for a mass demonstration of solidarity and brotherhood, demanding that we have the opportunities now available only to women. Indeed, not once... not one single time in the history of mankind has a man been allowed what most women take for granted.
What do you say guys? We could gather at the local grocery-store. Maybe in the "pink and white" aisle?

Very cool science, Stash, but you want...um...you're demanding - wut?!? I mean, go ahead, Sir, knock yourself out - but it sounds improbable - heh. er, go ahead! I, um, gotta go now...

Need A New PenPal? They Need You
Mike over at Cold Fury has gotten the story and it's starting to spread. I found out about it from dpud who also has a quick write-up about it. My kids are going to start writing and see if any of their church friends want to join in.
Let me tell you, not getting mail when you're deployed sucks. Even when you've got other things that can take up your free time, getting mail always raises your spirits. Even if you only send one letter, you've done something special that will get talked about a dozen times after they get home.
1
I give you one better; go on over to www.soldiersangels.org and adopt a soldier who is deployed. You must agree to send at least two packages a month, and letters & e-mails (if the soldier shares the e-mail)

We got great support from Operation Shoebox for our mental health staff and the guards. They were fantastic! Everything came very quickly and the troops were thrilled with all the little goodies and notes. It was very nice to say the least.

Free Ebooks
This was big a couple of months ago when Cox & Forkum made four of their political cartoon books available for download... free of charge. Wowio has no subscriptions, no fees, and no hassles after over two months of use... so I feel very comfortable recommending that you check them out. If you have any interest in reading, they have something you'll like.
Three titles a day, thirty a month, and don't forget to click the little smiley-face to say thank you. Enjoy!!
I think I first saw this at The Jawa Report so I'll give them the h/t, but it was in several other places too. Get the Cox & Forkum books at least, they're outstanding.
An American Hero
Via Badgers Forward, DRJ over at Patterico's brings us the story of a True American Hero, Master Sergeant Brendan O’Connor, getting the Distinguished Service Cross for his bravery in Afghanistan.
Incredible story that everyone should read. Talk about the real deal! Even 60 Minutes covered it. If the MSM doesn't ignore military heroism, you know it's something very special.
2
Never a problem DRJ... the Stash-a-lanche probably generated hundredsdozens two or three hits for you, but it's a great story and thank you for covering it.

Sites are added to the Moronosphere and Gerbil Nation blogrolls by request. I got everyone on there who was there when they were made, so email me if you know of a new addition. Some of these are on the main blogroll as well and will remain duplicated.
The main blogroll is at my own discretion. I gratefully accept suggestions by email, but I don't do blogroll exchanges. If a site is there, it's because I personally recommend it. If it's one that is not updated often, check out the archives and you'll probably see why it's there. I will rarely remove a site from the main blogroll once it's there.
